How would you go on the run during lockdown?

Lighthearted in case it isn’t obvious. What’s the best way do you reckon? Do you think those places with those boxes where the money and fake passports are stored stay open during lockdown?

I'd do what those people on that Channel 4 programme did once and cycled, camped and stuck to the canals. Or I'd take a boat, repaint it so the name wasn't recognised and tour the rivers and canals of the UK.

(I've never actually been on a canal boat though, but how hard can it be?)

Or I'd take fake ID, pretend I was a nurse on my way to tend the sick somewhere in the community and hide in a nice air bnb in the mountains near a lake and village shop.

That’s the spirit! Yes only a little bit of steering and some faffing on with locks and you’ll be fine.

I've been on a narrowboat. Apparently they are scarily easy to sink if you don't know what you are doing when going through a downhill lock.
You need to keep the nose to the front as the water drains out otherwise the back gets stuck on a ledge, which pushes the nose down very quickly.

They're also freezing if it isn't hot summer.

Somebody I know did that.

That bloke did it in Last Tango in Halifax (wrecked a narrowboat)

Utilise the Scout network. All the scout owned campsites are closed up at the moment, with just the warden check-in in, so would be easy to arrange on the quiet.

Narrowboats arent freezing in the winter.. they have fireplaces. Mine also had central heating through out

IamaBluebird · 01/11/2020 17:48

Well my hide on a narrow boat has just floated out the window. Freezing, locks and sinking has ruled that one out.
I might load the car with essentials and head to a remote cabin in the mountains. It'll be lovely Smile

Of course the criminals are still working. They're key workers.

How about getting abroad? I think somewhere hotter is easier to be on the run this time of year.
