  1. For adults, but not too bloody horrific because I'm a wimp!
  2. For small children, so not properly scary.

Paranormal Activity one and two are good scary movies...Not slasher films

Adults: Not a movie but Bly Manor on Netflix is creepy without being terrifying.

Children: Coraline is my favourite for 5 and up. Goosebumps for the slightly older ones.

Oh shoot! Just properly read your post.

Do not screen these films for little people

Coco for little ones!

We watched Red Eye last night. It's a 12 certificate but is a bit scary

We watched stardust last night which I think fills the criteria as it's got a) witches and b) ghosts in it. My 13 yr old and 10 year old both enjoyed it (except for the kissing- the 10 yr old has to hide at any suggestion of romance)
My husband wanted Lost Boys but was vetoed as the trailer was 'cringey' (outrageous!)
Admittedly neither of these are 'classic' halloween films but I scare easily.
