Hair falling out in half handfuls

I have been perimenopausal for around 18m. Still have periods but irregularly. My issue is mainly the cosmetic effects: my hair is falling out in half handfuls, my skin is thinning and dry and my lips have narrowed when formerly the bottom one was plump. My mood is fine and I'm not under stress (C19 has saved me a time consuming commute, I realise this is fortunate). It's really starting to get to me a bit as my means of compensating are slowing diminishing (the hair the lips the skin). Would welcome advice

Have you asked your GP for blood tests? To include thyroid, ferritin, iron and vitamin D levels. If you don't want to wait, online with Thriva is fast and relatively inexpensive.

I don't think it's worth trying superficial/cosmetic treatments until you know if there's an underlying cause.
In the meantime, you could start taking a good menopause vitamin supplement plus hair and nails supplement if you aren't already. Some people use biotin and collagen, but I don't have any experience of that?
Do you dye your hair? I'd stop if you do. How's your diet? Could you do with reducing sugar?

Blood tests. Also a good pro and prebiotic. Tidy up your diet so it’s packed with vitamins and minerals.
