Came on to see if anyone else had concerns about Boris's chosen first night of lockdown, but couldn't see anything- apologies if there's already a thread asking.
I'm a bit worried that where I live, the current "up in arms" community mind (about going into another lockdown), will result in so many more fireworks being set off/ roudy people causing disturbances & damage.
I love the area I live in, and love fireworks/ enjoy watching from garden, have 2 cats & 2 guineapigs so make sure they're inside the full week of firework night, but it's pretty crazy in my area with private firework displays & bonfires & (pre lockdown) normally drunk loud parties- nothing that bad, just people having fun, but teenagers & drunk adults handling fireworks means there's usually a few fires/ injuries.
Eldest has just shown me a post on her social media (I only know facebook & whatsapp/ wasn't either of those), with her peers suggesting starting lockdown with a bang- letting the government hear how angry they are by making as much noise as possible on 5th November.
Eldest is concerned as she's living in the centre of our rougher bit of town, but messaged to tell me she thought we should also stay at home/ not walk up to top of the drive to watch the whole street like usual on the actual night, just in case there was more drunk/ angry/ violent stuff going on than normal.
Putting middle DC to bed quick, back soon if anyone could maybe pop on & say "No worries/ anxiety talking/ what'll be will be/ just watch out the windows Thursday night".
Everything just feels more than a bit shit right now, so the idea of more neighbourhood issues or even riots like we saw a few summers ago, would be a lovely bit more doom & gloom to add to the pot ffs lol.
Need to find some positives to be looking forward to/ planning for, but I'm struggling a bit.
Gentle kick requested please
