Lockdown imminent, DP booked for vasectomy this week, chances of it going ahead?

Last vasectomy was cancelled as it was booked for the end of March. Finally got another date, told this week, for next week - after Wednesday.

Is this going to be bloody cancelled again? It isn't going to be the same lockdown due to schools etc staying open (and I'm only going by reports so far, I know we're waiting for the actual details) so maybe they won't cancel (grasping at straws completely here)?

It will go ahead unless you are in an area already badly hit by covid.

NHS england targets are to perform 90% of elective surgical activity as usual.

Some trusts are managing better than others but there are financial pressures for not reaching the targets and HUGE pressure not to cancel cases even if admin fuck ups mean the clinical staff working really late to finish the surgery.

Yours bitterly after a run of 7pm finishes last week (planned finish time was 16:30).

I've only seen Leeds and some NE trusts taking down elective surgery again.

My trust are still running about 14 on call rotas to cover the cancer services in two "clean" non NHS facilities as well as all our usual on call rotas and the two covid ITU support rotas.

Staff are tired we haven't really recovered from peak 1. And the predictions tonight are fucking grim.

Not in a badly hit area so hoping it won't be affected tbh.
