What’s thus in my flour?

Noticed too late as cake is already baking, but flour doesn’t look right. They look like little bits of wheat TBH but it doesn’t normally look like this, I’m sure. They’re not moving so not convinced they are mites or weevils. Will the cake be ok to eat? It’s just plain white flour Confused

It'll be a little bit of wheat bran. From time to time you get that, it's one of the reasons you're told to sift flour Smile

Ps - also in my experience things that wriggle in flour are normally blacker/darker in colour.

Ah, thank you Smile That’s what it looked like. I was only nervous as I’ve never noticed it before and it’s not just be eating the cake Grin

Yes, that’s what I thought. I’ve seen them before and was sure they noticeably move too.

Little black things that wriggle in flour do give a bit of extra crunch though.

Insects are the new protein.

Weevils are black dots so it's not weevils.
