I'm having one of those boring sort through the bills weekends and I've realised we're paying a silly amount for contents and building insurance.

How much is your buildings and content insurance? For reference it's a 4 bed semi at £816 a year!

About a quarter of that. 4 bed detached.
PiL were paying similar until I saw the renewal quote, and got them to fill in a comparison website quote generator thingy.
Theirs came down to about 250, iirc.

3 bed detached and about £300, which is a lot more than some but DH has a lot of bikes and we have high out of the home cover and a low excess, you can get it for about £120-£150 but you have to be careful with what it covers and usually there are no add ons and a high excess, average would probably be £200-£300 for full cover on 3-4 bed home

Ours is around £300 a year - 4 bed semi too. However, every year they try and put it up, every year we question it and they put it back down. If we had never queried it or threatened to take our business elsewhere, ours too would probably be a heck of a lot more.

Ours is a 3bed semi. Ours is £120 ish a year. That includes dh bike (£4K) and a few of my dads belongings I've inherited (total over £35k) plus the usual tech inside the house

4 bed semi. We pay about £160 for building and contents.
