Would you book a hotel tonight?

I have barely left the house since March. I was shielding at first and now I just don't fancy the idea of shopping, eating out etc. I work from home, entertained a 4 yr old from March to September till he started school and just entertained all week for halfterm.

I booked a rare day out yesterday to a local gardens doing a halloween trail and he was shockingly behaved. I was so gutted.

He is going to his dads tonight but stepchildren are coming so not much relaxing!

I dream of booking a nice hotel, a long bath with a book, my cross stitch, a big bed to myself, maybe a bit of wine and nice snacks.

But my town is Leeds and I don't know if it is a good idea. I'm not a rulebreaker and I take covid extremely seriously. But I am also at the end of my tether.

WWYD?

Do it. If hotels are open, then you could do it with appropriate social distancing, keep everyone safe, AND have some richly deserved space of you. It’s only going to get worse, by the look of it, so grab time while you can!

Holliej · 31/10/2020 14:28

Do it. Hotels in Leeds are open and they all have great social distancing measures (I work in the field before you think I stay in them all the time Wink). Go have a night to yourself, it sounds like you deserve a treat. Make sure you get one that offers room service so you don’t have to leave your room. X

NiceGerbil · 31/10/2020 14:31

Go for it.

QuestionableMouse · 31/10/2020 14:32

Do it, but book two nights. You'll feel so much better for it!

KatesMott · 31/10/2020 14:34

Do it! Malmaison have rooms from £65 for tonight.

Haggisfish · 31/10/2020 14:35

God yes.

Confuzzlediddled · 31/10/2020 14:37

Leeds isn't in tier 3 until Monday, so go for it!

ChasingRainbows19 · 31/10/2020 14:37

Yup! Do it while you can. Only stayed in a couple over summer but as clean and safe as can be.

Annoyance · 31/10/2020 14:38

Do it tonight while you still can.

littlefireseverywhere · 31/10/2020 14:39

Do it now, think how relaxed you’ll feel when you do leave!

Bookaholic73 · 31/10/2020 14:39

Definitely do it, and enjoy every second. Sounds like you thoroughly deserve it!

MrsTerryPratchett · 31/10/2020 14:40

Do it and remember snacks, iPad, books, fancy bath products, nice comfy clothes, slippers and anything else that will make it lovely. And I'd do two nights.

MiddleEasternMummy · 31/10/2020 14:41

You need to throw a few things in a bag and leave the house immediately! Book something on your phone now . Enjoy !!! Don't overthink it just do it xx

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 31/10/2020 14:41

I wouldn't blame you for doing it & if you fancy it, I can't think why not as far as 'the rules' or common sense are concerned.

However, personally, though going to the coast is incredibly appealing to ME, I just don't fancy the though of being in accommodation others have just vacated nor of eating out.

How old are the step DC?

Can you not plan something nice with them AND time to yourself for a nice bath, book etc?

Newnamenewopenme · 31/10/2020 14:42

I’m in leeds to and fancy doing the same ha! Must be the weather sending the men and kids behaviour out of the window.

justaweeone · 31/10/2020 14:43

LynetteScavo · 31/10/2020 14:45

Do it. But make sure it's a really nice hotel.

wannabebump · 31/10/2020 14:47

Do it! Get it booked fast, get a bag together and go and enjoy!

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 31/10/2020 14:50

I was going to suggest 42 The Calls but I see it’s closed for redevelopment.
