Monzo - safe to enter details?

Morning,

Someone wants to buy something from me, they have sent a Monzo link for me to enter details to receive the payment. Anyone done this is it genuine/safe? I’ve never heard of them. Google seems to say it’s safe it just seems odd to click a link and enter your bank details??

Thanks

Hi, yes this is fine and perfectly safe, in my experience Smile

Yep. I have a Monzo account and it's just a way to pay that person like PayPal for example. Is it a Monzo.me link as that's what I have

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 31/10/2020 09:40

I was about to say that's fine but now I'm confused:

They are paying you, but they have sent you a link for you to receive the money? That does sound dodgy. If you don't have a Monzo account I don't see how that would work.

Thisisneverending · 31/10/2020 09:46

Hi yes it’s a Monzo.com link. When I click on it there’s a section to enter bank details it has the correct amount they are paying.
It doesn’t say Monzo me.

I’ll try and add a pic of what it says without identifying features.

I have a Monzo account, it's completely legit. Using the Monzo.me link is just an easier way to transfer money

Monzo is a legitimate bank, me have an account with them. The link will be to enter details to transfer the money to your account. Same as you might have read someone your bank account number to transfer you money in the past.
