Flu jag. Feel crap 😔

I had the flu jag yesterday... Omg I still feel rubbish 20 hours later... My shoulder is super achy, but Im headachy and achy all over. Also got heavy period making g ne feel yucky 😩..
Jag was the most painless ever though...normally I dont have side effects,..
Anyone else bothered this time?

Sounds like you caught something else about a week ago. What a rubbish coincidence.

I had my flu jab over a week ago. Didn't feel it. No after effects at all. Nothing. Not even a sore arm.

I had literally no side effects this year for I think the first time ever, but some years I have felt quite miserable for 24 hours or so.

PP is wrong, it doesn't mean you've caught something else, it's just your immune response. Like when babies are crabby for a day or two after their vaccinations.

Paracetamol will help. Hopefully you'll feel better soon.

This is because those baby vaccinations are ‘live’ ones. The flu jab isn’t which is why side effects are very rare. With the exception of the sore shoulder, your other symptoms are more likely to be unrelated.

Its weird because I felt absolutely fine yesterday morning, before i had the jag.

Normally I'd be the one saying I must have caught something before I had it.

Side note - is it common to call it a jag? I thought the usual term was jab.

Most of the baby vaccines aren't live, including the meningitis B vaccine which is most likely to give them a temp.

It's correct to say the flu vaccine can't give you flu, but it can still make you feel a bit miserable for a day or two. Still well worth it of course.

Is it the first time you've had it? It can take 2 weeks for your body to work up immunity. When people say the flu jab gave them flu, it doesn't, they have probably been brewing something up beforehand.

I usually get a sore arm which makes it uncomfortable to sleep on that side. This year I didn't have the soreness, my arms must have got fatter since last year
