Hotel - No hot water for 2 nights

Spent 4 nights at a 4* hotel, a treat as we had no Summer holiday. Cost £200 a night for 2 adults 1 DC.

Weather was dreadful and it poured every day. 2 nights running we returned to hotel and no hot water. Problem with boiler. As we were muddy we had to wash in freezing water.

Raised it at check out and staff member just said “sorry about that” and asked if everything else had been ok. I was annoyed that something that had made our stay so unpleasant was glossed over. What would you have done?

I would have said ‘can you tell me how this will be reflected in my bill? I appreciate a breakdown is not your fault but this is a holiday and I really don’t expect to have to wash in cold water two days in a row in late October’.

So you just accepted an apology?!

I would asked for a reduction and if it was not forthcoming I would have asked to speak to the manager.
