How to split a room in 2

My dd ^& ds share a room but I'm thinking of splitting it soon. Trying to think of ideas in splitting in 2. It's a rented house . Also has one 1 window

Is the window wide enough that you could have a room partition abutting there middle of it?

If not I'd use a Kallax type room divider with a gap at the top for light.

I have this same dilemma coming up, although dd and da are happy sharing still (for now anyway)

There’s the good old Kaplan option, but b and q used to do big wooden panels that were held by pressure points but looking today, they’re out of stock. They do however do panels that’s you can click together to make your own design of room divider, with options for frosted glass “windows” or slatted windows

Thanks, yes window is a big one- it's a 3 bed semi and they have back room.
@Badgerling can I ask how old your kids are?
My ds is happy sharing hes 4 but dd 7 is happy at the moment but has mentioned a few times having own room.
Think Kallax might be the way to go at first ....

Could you give the DC the biggest bedroom if it has more/ 2 windows and take the back room yourself? as it may be easier to split. Options to spli include using a big curtain to give privacy (but doesn't block noise), fold up rice paper/wicker/ decorated type screens or office type flat partition screens. You could use bookcases one facing one way then the next the other so that back side can be used for posters etc.

I suppose it depends how much privacy they need due to age, if you want to cut out noise and how robust the divide needs to be.
