Best trainers youve had?

From looks point of view ? Practical? Comfy? Good for running?

wannabebump · 29/10/2020 18:56

Practical wise - North Face Hedgehogs. Goretex so super dry, grippy in rubbish weather, light for an outdoor shoe.

Best trainers otherwise - a pair of Nike Air Max I bought in 2014. No other pair of trainers, including newer air max, have never lived up to those 2014 pair!

Bearnecessity · 29/10/2020 18:56

My nike's have really lasted and are still very comfy and they weren't super pricey. I fancy some NB's or Asics next but not sure how good they are either...anyone?

devildeepbluesea · 29/10/2020 18:58

I always loved Nike Air Max too. Also my Saucony Guide 7s. Worst: ASICS. Just do not agree with my bunion!

Monsterjam · 29/10/2020 18:58

@Bearnecessity ASICS over NB any days . The soles of my NB were flat in months but my ASICS are still going x

Sidge · 29/10/2020 18:59

My Brooks are number one. Saucony a close number two. ASICS a close number 3.

chunkyrun · 29/10/2020 19:00

I love my Nike 110 so comfy. I'm hyper mobile and good foot wear is a must

BestIsWest · 29/10/2020 19:08

I also loved my North Face Hedgehogs - they have lasted 4 years and have been brilliant as walking shoes on all kinds of terrain but have now started leaking. Will definitely be replacing with the same if I can.

For exercise, running etc ASICS Cloud Nimbus.

fitzbilly · 29/10/2020 19:57

Brooks and ASICS for running. Absolutely the best for my feet and the milage I do.

For fashion, new balance. Super comfy and come in a miner range of colours.

I think it really does depend on your type of feet and your gait.

fitzbilly · 29/10/2020 20:00

I also have North Face waterproof trainers for hiking and camping which are very good.

Viv0321 · 29/10/2020 20:00

For comfort mainly Smile

Purely for comfort - Nike Air Max Thea. But they're incredibly thin (can see the outline of my toes if I flex them!) and I think you'd get wet feet if you even thought about rain. But God they're comfy.

Bit more sturdy and still comfy - Nike Internationalist.

Quincy69 · 29/10/2020 20:21

My favourites are Adidas Stan Smith - the only shoes I can walk 15-20km in and survive it. Got them in 4-5 different colours/models to go with any style. Looove them!

ivftake1 · 29/10/2020 20:24

Always vans

I bought a pair of NB to try... never again. Comfortable but wear out incredibly quickly (being used as casual trainers, not exercising etc)
skankingpiglet · 29/10/2020 21:27

It depends on how you define comfortable too. My favourites are my Merrell Vapour Gloves as if it was safe (and warm!) enough to do so I would be barefoot all the time. They are super light, super thin, very flexible, and don't squish my toes. They are as close to no shoes as I've managed to get, which is 'comfort' to me. However they obviously have absolutely no padding as a result, so if it's a pillowy kind of comfortable you are going for they aren't the shoe for you...

LadyofMisrule · 29/10/2020 21:33

K-Swiss Blade Max for running. Absolutely brilliant.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 29/10/2020 21:36

For looks, my Brookes.

For gym , my Nike. Not sure what model they are though

Goldistheanswer · 29/10/2020 21:37

Brooks trainers cured my plantar fasciitis when physio, steroid injections etc had failed. Best trainers ever and DH swears by his for running.

Shizzlestix · 29/10/2020 22:02

Air Force Max. They’re purple. So comfortable!

Ltdannygreen · 29/10/2020 22:20

These babies, so friggin comfy, now they’ve stopped making them 😩

Best trainers you’ve had?

Adidas are always a good bet, lots of choice. Nike high tops good too. Brooks for running.

Don't get flat sole or skater style, they don't bend.

Bearnecessity · 30/10/2020 04:08

Thank you for the suggestions....interesting to learn NB's are more of a fashion shoe. Could be Asics or I will have to check out these Brooks that seem popular.
