What’s everyone been doing over half term? What are you doing for Halloween?

Looking disconsolately out of the window at the rain mostly.

And nothing as the kids are off to their father's.

Very little... One child is on an intensive swimming course, another is doing an online class.
We had one day out and another afternoon walk. But other than that the weather is terrible so anything inside us either full, extremely expensive or doesn't feel covid secure.

I've never had such a boring half term off.

We aren't doing anything for Halloween. Eldest won't dress up, neither want pumpkins and just want some sweets.

We have been on a few big days out to local zoos and theme parks, for Halloween we are watching scary movies, apple bobbing, making Halloween food and doing a treasure hunt for sweets! It’s been a lovely half term, week off work so I’m happy!

I worked Monday-Wednesday and DS went to his gran’s. Today we went pumpkin picking for about 20 minutes, got drenched. We were drowned rats.

We (I) then carved the pumpkins and did DS’ homework.

Tomorrow we’re going to the zoo as we’re members. Prepared for another drowning.

Monday was DC2’s birthday. We went to the cinema at her request
Tuesday DC played with birthday presents and watched films
Wednesday SIL and nephew came to the park with us for a long walk and play on the playgrounds, then we all went to costa for take-away hot chocolate and cake
Today we were going to go to the botanical garden, but DH had a work issue that he had to deal with so went to the park for a muddy walk in the woods (so grateful this year for the huge park at the end of the street)
Tomorrow DC and I are having a Halloween party with a few games and making some spooky cakes
Saturday I am going to work
So, mostly going to the park and sitting round the house in pyjamas.

Zilch. We’re not allowed out here (Wales) and everything is closed anyway. Dc aren’t outdoorsy and it’s peeing down.

10questions · 29/10/2020 18:36

We did decorate dc’s room for Halloween.

Sheknowsaboutme · 29/10/2020 18:39

Took a week off work only were in lockdown.

But even in the rain ive walked loads. Been up snowdon, cooked, baked and potter.

We've baked three Christmas cakes, put up some Halloween decs inside, made some Happy Halloween bunting & cleared out dd2's bedroom.

Gutted pumpkins today and will carve them tomorrow. Dd1 wants to make pumpkin pie with some of the insides so we'll have a go at that over the weekend.

I've emptied, painted & sorted my pantry.

For Halloween I've printed a hunt with clues so will try & find a moment to hide them where they should be, with some sweets. Other than that; probably watch Hocus Pocus again, Nightmare Before Christmas again and try to introduce dd2 to Beetlejuice for a bit of variety.
