Hi!
We’re thinking of moving to Boston in Lincolnshire. Looking online I’ve seen a lot of negative but it’s quite a while ago that it was posted. Does anyone live here or near here? What is it like for a family? Are the people friendly / the schools nice?
Thank you!!

Personally, having lived there, I wouldn't recommend it.

We moved to Boston from down South not believing all the bad press. It always seemed so nice when we were driving through and you got so much more for your money house wise. That's what ultimately made us go for it.

We moved in and the house was back on the market again within a few weeks. The surrounding villages are perfectly fine, but going into town isn't pleasant. You have to drive here there and everywhere for all the various shops and things you'd usually need as a family and all of the little retail parks charge for parking (as does everywhere else) It really adds up!

The traffic is always awful too. The entire town gets backed up and gridlocked then takes ages to clear if a train is coming through.

It's very agricultural as opposed to "countryside" so you're forever stuck behind lorries and tractors and as a consequence overtaking and bad aggressive driving is the norm.

We lived in one of the surrounding villages but all you'd ever see in the Boston FB group were posts about fights or people pooing behind and stealing from the clothes recycling bins in town.

Many of the people we encountered were lovely, had been there their whole lives and were perfectly happy there. But it really was not for us at all!
