Teapot - URGENT HELP REQUIRED [grin]

Where can I get a decent teapot?? A real teapot with a decent spout? I see many pretty teapots that are easy on the eye but the SPOUT is terrible usually. Dribbles and drips.
Can anyone help? I had an amazing silver plate elegant one for years. The spout not only looked beautiful but it was long and narrow and did not drip. It also retained heat. However it got lost in a move last year. I broke my one decent (ish) ceramic one last week.

Have I gone mad?

We drink loads of tea so always make a tea pot rather than just cuppas. We're a clumsy couple Grin and have had many casualties over the years. But our glass bodum one is really good and has lasted ages. I've just Googled it is the assam one.

I love that Art Deco one @lurker101 linked to. Maybe I should get that in the massive size for a Christmas Day teapot!

@BlenheimOrange

I have a 50s piquot ware one that pours beautifully and looks like it was milled from a single block of metal in an aircraft factory. Love it. You can find them on eBay and they polish up with Silvo.
They are stunning - thank you. just ordered one and lets see... I wil drop a line and a pic!

Hah, glad you like! My granny had one. I inherited the milk jug and sugar pot, but the teapot was long gone - I was so pleased to be able to find the exact same.

Have a look at sona ware on ebay. It's like the piquot but nicer ;)

I second @BlenheimOrange's piquot ware suggestion. I think they look beautiful and they NEVER drip.

There's the Brown Betty one and I can also vouch for Emma Bridgewater teapots. ☕️

Mindgone · 30/10/2020 00:34

I bought my mother in law an enamel, traditional round teapot, and she loves it dearly, great pourer and light.

DramaAlpaca · 30/10/2020 00:34

Placemarking as I really want that holy grail of a non drippy teapot for Christmas Smile

katy1213 · 30/10/2020 00:37

Don't get one with a metal handle, they're too hot to pick up. And the lids get too hot, too, if you want to top up with boiling water.

Have a lovely Le Creuset one

AmIDoingThisRight · 30/10/2020 07:43

I have a specially engineered, dripless Brown Betty. It makes the most sublime tea. Life is too short for dunking tea bags. Proper tea made in my little tea pot with a China cup and saucer and I am ready for the world. And IT DOES NOT DRIP, not ever.

lurker101 · 30/10/2020 10:52

@katy1213 I think it depends on what type you get/how the handle shape is designed. Mum, Granny and I all have metal teapots with metal lids/handles and it’s not a problem getting too hot - even though we put them on the hot hob to brew for about 5 mins.

thinkfast · 13/12/2020 20:30

We have a le creuset one. Pours beautifully.
