A friend who worked backstage at panto with him for many years says he was a lovely man and so nice with the kids.

So sorry to hear this news. Loved him in "Not Going Out". Rock on Tommy.

So sad to hear this. He made me laugh like no one else when I was a kid.

Wasn't disappointed years later when he was in Not Going Out- just genuinely comedic.

I went to see the Cannon and Ball Show at the Manchester Apollo in 1984. A lot of recycled material but otherwise good. The support act was Rocky Sharpe and The Replays.

Eddie Large and Bobby Ball in the same year. Very sad.

Loved him as a kid and then later in 'Not Going out'.

Very sad - met him once and he was a genuinely nice guy.
