A friend who worked backstage at panto with him for many years says he was a lovely man and so nice with the kids.

So sad to hear this. He made me laugh like no one else when I was a kid.

Wasn't disappointed years later when he was in Not Going Out- just genuinely comedic.

I went to see the Cannon and Ball Show at the Manchester Apollo in 1984. A lot of recycled material but otherwise good. The support act was Rocky Sharpe and The Replays.
