WFH - what temperature is your house?

I worked in a big open plan office. Everyone was always complaining it was either too hot or too cold.

The temperature never really bothered me.

Now that I am home all day I forget I have control over the heating so rarely put it on. Most days my office is around 17 degrees. It seems fine.

What temperature are you keeping the house at. I was rarely home before and didn’t really gove it any thought!

24c but I'm always cold

I only heat the room I'm in. It's about 20c which is mostly okay, although some days I feel a little chilly.

I'm not working from home but when I am at home I like to keep the house between 23 and 24, I can't bear being cold

We’re still figuring ours out between what works for both of us. DH is always hotter than I am and he is in the small room with the boiler, which means that rooms gets quite hot. I’m in the lounge but it’s a large lounge so is a colder room anyway. It would probably make sense to change rooms but I don’t like the spare room. We also just changed our boiler and I think this one is a lot more efficient. We’ve been between 18 and 21 the last few days but we lurch from too hot to too cold! We’re tweaking the programmes on the thermostat to see what works but so far not found anything. At least in the office I was consistently too cold, I knew how to prepare for that.

I am watching tv, and the thermostat says the room is 17.6 degrees. I have a blanket and it does feel a but chilly. The poor cat is curled up under my coat!

I actually move around a lot less now I'm working from home and by that I mean less fidgeting less leaning to people and of course the temperature's colder anyway but the moving less makes a big difference too I think
I have managed to not put the heating on yet but I think I'll have to from Monday as it's getting too much now

East central Scotland so it's damp cold here at the moment (rainy and wet outside, rather than frosty dry cold) and we find 18.5 degrees comfortable. I can tell when DC flick the thermostat to 20 - it's boiling!

We are at 19-20c in daytime, but go down to 17c at night because we prefer to sleep in cooler temperature.

Daytime it's set to 19. The thermostat isn't in my office though and it's one of the coldest rooms in the house so probably a touch lower. I always have a nice snuggly cardigan on and I have a blanket if I need it. I could turn the temp up but it feels a bit wasteful.

19 mostly. DH loves heat so could be up to 21 in winter. With solar gain in the kitchen it's usually 27-30. We are used to it now. It can be a bit of a shock going outside!

19 is good. 24 is tropical. Wouldn't like to pay that heating bill, but I am from Yorkshire.

I make my office room really hot, got a little heater. I leave the heating off in the rest of the house during the day as it’s just me in (the thermostat kicks in if it gets down to 18 at any point but that doesn’t happen much).
17.6 for watching tv is freezing!

I don’t have the central heating on during the day. I just have an electric heater in my office. It gets lovely and toasty in there, then I open the door to go to the bathroom or to make a cup of tea and I’m hit by an arctic blast on the landing.

I refuse to turn the heating on for WFH, so it's about 17-18° where I work. I have thermal socks with slippers plus a blanket over my knees! It doesn't bother me actually.

In winter we heat the house intermittently through the day anyway, so I don't think it'll bother me too much then either.

No idea we don't have a thermostat. At the moment SE London it's nit been really cold so I've been having the heating in v low in the evening. Off overnight and morning ( thanks peri), then crank it up when I've been sitting at my desk for a while. Then it is invariably too hot so I turn it off and open the doors and windows.

And repeat.

Ours is set to kick in at 19 in the day but sometimes I give it a little nudge to 20 if I'm feeling chilly and already got cardy/fluffy socks on - usually when I've been at the laptop still for a while. We set it to 18 at night.

I only have the heating on in the morning and the evening. Always at 20 degrees. During the day I just wear layers.

Thermostat set to 15 yead round and just comes on and off as needed.

I don't understand people who "can't bare" to be at less than 20c. That's spring/early summer sitting in the park in a skirt and light top temperature.

Temperature is temperature, doesn't matter what season it is or if you are inside or outside. 20c overnight in July and people would be summer duvets and complaining its too hot

Why have the heating on at all at night? I just don't get it.

You said in your op that you’re fine at 17 degrees - no need to rethink or change it if you’re happy!
I have my rooms downstairs at 23 and my bedroom at 21.5 with a window a little bit open. I’m not wfh though, I go out to work every day.
I like a warm house and detest layering up indoors. I don’t want to be bulky and uncomfortable.
I often come and light the fire because I want to be really warm after a day being at work and often being bloody cold (school, all windows are open 🥶) and the front room gets to about 28/29 degrees - I’m at my happiest then

22 and I'm still in fluffy socks and a jumper. The cat is also under a blanket! I think it's the not moving around, the cold sets in for me.

Thermostat is set to 18, but it is upstairs. Downstairs is usually a lot colder, and we really feel the chill if we're sitting for too long. I often work in bed. The rest of the time it's thermals and fleecy trousers.

I have just bought legwarmers for added warmth. Now sing after me, "Fame! I'm gonna live forever..."
