My friend has asked me to provided a personal reference for her PGCE application, which I am very happy to do - she would make a terrific primary school teacher. However, now that I've sat down to write it, I am having a bit of trouble. The guidance provided by UCAS is quite broad (particularly for a secondary reference) and I want to make a good of it. If you have undertaken this before, what did you include? What sort of time should I aim for? Was it successful? If you work in this area, what would you want to see in a personal reference? I would be really grateful if anyone has any advice or could direct me to a good website.
