Do you have nice soup bowls?

I’m looking for nice soup bowls. I have white bowls from Ikea and I think a lovely bowl will make eating the soup I’m planning to make over the next few months, a more pleasurable experience. Grin

I’m rubbish at deciding on things like that though. Where did you get yours from? A pic would be lovely.

If you put sausages in the soup then you need one with a flat edge to put the mustard on.

No, I use the same bowl whether the soup is nice or not.

We have these lovely Waitrose ones, with the long oval plates that go with them - indentation on one side for the soup bowl, space on the other side for your soup spoon (or normal spoon, if you're my heathen husband) and your bread/toast/whatever.

Just the right size - I love them!

Yes I do. From local potters. And my grandmother’s soup spoons! @Whitney168 LTB that is unforgivable!

(Thick woman, have just realised that instead of failing to find a pic online, I could just take one out of the cupboard and take a photo!

Ive never had soup with sausage in it. I’ll have to investigate that.

@Whitney168 those are lovely. I didn’t think about spoons. I’ll have to investigate that too.

I would love to have a local pottery to browse in.

Le Creuset ones, I love them.
They were a gift a few years ago.

I don't have these yet but they are in my basket. Sorry it's Amazon.

I've got a set from my grandmother, never actually used them. So I'm no help whatsoever.

It's always absolutely worth getting two sets (one ikea or whatever) and packing the more expensive one up in storage for when there is minimal alcohol involved as things can get broken very easily with clumsy.

Pick one you like.

Lunch! Odds and sods soup (parsnip, lentils, a few carrots I think). Anyway these are from TK Max I think!

These are mine, part of the kitchen dinner set. A bit small for the hearty soups I make so I just use pasta bowls, preferably with a flat rim.

One design I would NOT recommend is the Maxwell & Williams soup bowl with the lion’s head handles. Difficult shape to get to the table and inside the lion’s head gathers dirty water in the dishwasher.

If I were looking for some I’d go to a charity shop or eBay.
