Weighted blanket recommendations?

DD would like a weighted blanket for Christmas. They seem to be quite pricey so I would appreciate any recommendations ?
Is it a case of you get what you pay for, or is it easy to get ripped off? DD suffers from anxiety and sometimes has sleep issues. She was diagnosed as having Aspergers when she was 14 (is now 20) but doesn't like to think of herself as Aspergers. Not that that makes any difference but just a bit of context!
I would appreciate any experience of weighted blankets and where to purchase - thank you for reading!

@Appuskidu I think you work it out according to the person's body weight?

My DD has an undiagnosed disability and sensory issues seem to be part of this. She borrowed a weighted blanket from her OT and it really helped her to calm down and sleep. I bought her one from John Lewis. They have a chart on their website showing which weight you need for your body weight. The JL one seems to work just as well as the one from the disability company, is cheaper and looks/feels nicer

I bought this one for my DD and she loves it. I've just bought another one for myself Smile

I have a Mela Blanket, bought it from Amazon when it was on sale for about £90. It's really nice - I love it. I don't sleep a full night without it.
I bought it for anxiety and waking in the night and it really does work.
I got a double, but they do singles too - which will probably work out cheaper.

Do you use them instead of a duvet? Dd would also like one but I’d imagined they would lie on top of your normal bedding. Now in thinking they’re to use instead of.

We have weighted blankets from a company called Gravity, bought online, for both our ASD kids. They love the blanket, use them on their own or with duvet depending on how cold they feel.

I think you calculate 10% of their weight for the weight of the blanket you use.
