Downward dog
Half handstand with knees on sofa
Handstand against the wall
Held handstand
Walk on hands/ pirouette

All I can do is downward dog..! In my defence, I had a c section three months Grin

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 27/10/2020 09:12

Nope, can't do any of those without spilling my wine.

Frlrlrubert · 27/10/2020 09:18

I can do all but the last after a few wines I reckon. I'd put my back out though.

Themadcatparade · 27/10/2020 09:20

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles here, here! Wine

Funnily enough I’ve Recently had to do a handstand Or two for the first time in years as my daughter started acro and I had to show her that it wasn’t too scary to be upside down!

I can do all apart from hold it really, maybe two or three seconds but not much more than that. I was fairly active when I was younger and surprised myself that I’m not too unsupple and heavy now to just about get away with it Grin

Bwlch · 27/10/2020 09:20

Hold a plank Yes.
Downward dog I don't know what a downward dog is.
Half handstand with knees on sofa I can't imagine what this is.
Handstand against the wall Yes, plus press-ups.
Held handstand As above.
Walk on hands/ pirouette No.

AriettyHomily · 27/10/2020 09:21

Can't do the last two.

Frequentcarpetflyer · 27/10/2020 09:22
Grin
badlydrawnbear · 27/10/2020 09:37

I couldn't do a handstand when I was a child, so, no, I've never been able to do most of them. I don't know what downward dog is, but probably not.

Camomila · 27/10/2020 09:54

Yes (did years of gymnastics/dance).

I can't do the splits anymore though :( Need to do more yoga while DS1 is at school!

doadeer · 27/10/2020 10:00

I think I can plank for about 1 min 30
I can down dog
I can handstand against soft in an L shape but I was always scared to free style it so I'm not sure!

I could do the splits till quite recently and I've had an injury.

I can do hands flat on the floor if I bend forwards and I can get my leg behind my head etc. Better on flexible stuff than strength stuff.

bengalcat · 27/10/2020 10:08

I can do the top four on your list and a three legged dog ( that’s down dog with one leg outstretched in the air for those that might not know ) - mid 50’s so proud of myself

SeanCailleach · 27/10/2020 10:10

Well done @JeVoudrais that's pretty good going!
Downward dog is on hands and feet with straight shoulders so some weight is on your arms.
@badlydrawnbear plank from your knees counts
@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles practise, practise. Best to start with a plastic cup of water Grin

I couldn’t do one when young and I haven’t improved with age.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 27/10/2020 10:12

Can't do any.
Have never been able to do a hand stand. Some years back when I was generally healthier I could plank, do lots of sit ups and was quite flexible. I'm not any more thanks to fibromyalgia.
Tried to do a plank during Joe Wicks pe and spectacularly failed. Watched from the sidelines from then on.

ShowOfHands · 27/10/2020 10:16

Different things in your op test different things. I can do a downward dog for example but not with great ease as I'm not very flexible and never will be. I can walk on my hands, hold a plank for 5 minutes, do pull ups, do a dragon flag. I'm pretty strong but inflexible.

Iamthewombat · 27/10/2020 10:16

You’ve inspired me to give a held handstand a whirl now. I haven’t tried one in years. I still do the odd cartwheel when I’ve had a few.

SeanCailleach · 27/10/2020 10:35

@showofhands a dragonflag ???????
@Iamthewombat yay!

Ah @CigarsofthePharoahs that's tough

Not any more, 6 months pg with no3! goodness knows what state I’ll be in after 😁

DontAskIDontKnow · 27/10/2020 11:43

I can do a couple of steps walking on my hands and I’ve tried pirouetting, but it was too hard.

I started going to a local adults gymnastics session before COVID (at the grand old age of 42 and not having done gymnastics since about the age of 10). It’s great fun chucking yourself about on all the equipment.

Camomila · 27/10/2020 11:50

Soo jealous Smile

PaperMonster · 27/10/2020 11:55

I have never ever been able to do a handstand. Anything where I have to put pressure on my wrists, they just collapse. Used to really annoy me as a child as I couldn’t join in when everyone one else was doing handstands against a walk, or doing the crab.

Thewinterofdiscontent · 27/10/2020 11:59

I did one the other day and neatly broke my neck. They used to be so easy. And the crab. In my head I know what I’m doing but my body feels weird doing it.

SeanCailleach · 27/10/2020 13:02

Whoah @Thewinterofdiscontent take it gently! Train up to it

@PaperMonster shoulder stand?

ShowOfHands · 27/10/2020 14:35

Flags!

They take some practice.

I was never fit as a child but have loved strength training since having children. I'm certainly fitter at nearly 40 than I was at 25. I've just signed up to adult gymnastics too!
