No sleep- removing swaddle at 4 months

Help! Please! My DS is 4 months old, and since birth has suffered with silent reflux and a mild cows milk intolerance- both only diagnosed at 2 months after hell for him and us and multiple doc apps). Anyway, out of desperation for sleep during the times DS been in pain, myself and DH have swaddled DS for every nap and for every night. Now he won't sleep without swaddle. Last night we tried no swaddle and he woke crying and screaming 12 times, has bashed himself in the eye so has a swollen eye. We are going to persevere with the no swaddle... but if anyone has any suggestions of what to do or products to recommend that might make transitioning to no swaddle easier - I would be so grateful.

I haven't swaddled my DD but when I was buying baby bits before she arrived I came across a swaddle that apparently helps babies transition to a sleeping bag type outfit. It might help your DS to settle. I've attached a picture. Hopefully someone will be able to help who has experienced this with their DC.

Thanks Liquoricecravings. Might give this a go.
