What’s the biggest age gap you have between two siblings?

Lighthearted:

My youngest child is nearly an adult but I am insanely broody. I get that it is probably my body making one final bid before the menopause! But I was wondering what’s the biggest age gap between two sibling (without a sibling in between, if that makes sense). If we were to go for another child, the gap would be 18 years!!!! What I probably need is for one of my adult children to have a baby that I can dote on, but none of my children want children, and of course that would not be a reason for them to do so, I know!

My friend had a 17.5 years gap between her DD and DS!

Youngest child here. 15 years between me and my eldest sibling, 9 between me and the youngest. I had a very happy childhood although I'm not 'close' in the conventional sibling way to the eldest siblings as they left home when I was about 3 so they are more 'uncle' figures I suppose. But we all still get along very well and I didn't have the usual sibling bickering to deal with!

A friend of mine is 49 and has a ten year old half brother. On his dad's side though so not sure that counts Grin

26 years between Mils oldest sibling and youngest (same parents). Thirteen in total. When her youngest sibling was born she was 17 and her mum was 46 and had thought he was the menopause.
It was more the number of children than the age gap that caused issues.

OP I have a DC who turns 16 in a few weeks, I’m mid 30s and me and DP (who has no children) are planning on 1-2 together. Looks like my sibling age gap will be 17-18 years too.

I have 23 years between my daughter and my son. She's 25 now, he's 2. Some people will think you're crazy and I dud struggle a bit in the beginning (had PND) and missed my freedom but I think a lot of parents struggle with a newborn, sleepless nights etc. But, it flies by. Also, I find having a little one makes me more inclined to get out and do things, be active etc. Yeah, I can't just spontaneously go out to the pub or whatever but in Covid times, who can! The best advice I got on here was it's not a loss of freedom but an extra person around and we all adore him. My daughter says she is so happy to have a little brother plus she loved being an only child so best of both worlds there. Anyways, I'm rambling but if you reaaally want another one, go for it!
