Secondary schools in North devon

We have a potential job opportunity in North Devon, which is really exciting but with two older primary kids we need to be confident about school options. We'd need to live within commute distance to Barnstaple but, as the job is partly wft can be a bit flexible in location. So, does anyone out there know anything about secondary school options in that neck of the woods? Thanks very much!

I don’t think they’re that good to be honest. Some worse than others though.
Check ofsted then phone Devon county council admissions line and find out waiting lists. Check catchment areas for schools you like the look of there.
I used to work in admissions and I can only remember the mid and south devon good schools.

Thanks, that's what I feared! I was hoping if I was flexible in location there would be more options. It's a tough call as where we are now there are some great school choices.

There are 2 in barnstaple, pilton community college and park school. Depending on which side if the town you live in is the school you go to. Other than that your looking at going out further, there's bideford college who have a huge amount of uniform, braunton school, south molton or atlantic academy which I wouldn't use even if you paid me.

My daughter goes to Pilton Community college but we are looking for another school, I was thinking about Braunton Academy, is it so bad? @Notthelastjedi.
I even thinking to move to south devon but it is impossible to rent any properties at the moment! Any good schools in South Devon?
