Does anyone on here work for primark?

I have lost the physical receipt for a coat I brought that doesn’t fit. I have a copy of the receipt on my phone though, would that suffice? I want to exchange it for one that fits.

Hoping to save myself an 60+ min trip to my closet one if I can’t use the photo of the receipt, I’ve tried emailing and just got a generic reply back not answering my question.

Go in and buy the right size. Then come out and go back in using the new receipt for a refund of the incorrect size.

I have done this as my friend who was isolating had the physical receipt in her possession. I went in v apologetically explained the situation and they were happy enough to scan the bar code from the receipt copy on my phone. Their approach was "in this day and age we sometimes have to adopt a modern ie non paper, approach"

I sent DP and they said they wouldn’t do an exchange without the actual receipt. Also didn’t have any other of that design in so couldn’t buy a new one and return the old one. Annoying but not the end of the world, the coat will go to a charity shop or something.

Buying the right size and using the receipt from that to return the original won’t work as the receipt when scanned will show a different size to the one being returned.

I would be quite annoyed at that response OP, I might be wrong but I thought you only have to provide proof of purchase for a return within the allocated returns time. You’ve clearly demonstrated that with a photograph of the receipt, surely it doesn’t matter whether you have the actual original...they only scribble on it and give it back to you anyway!

@Shadow01 I did this exact thing last week. They didn't put the receipt in my bag for the original purchase. The item didn't fit my daughter. I went in and bought the right size then returned the wrong one with that receipt. There were no problems at the till.
