To be honest, I thought he'd already died. 87, a good age. The sound of Grandstand to me, when I was growing up in the 60s and 70s.

I recall he left under a cloud, was it drug taking or something else? That probably only leaves David Icke as a former Grandstand presenter still alive.

Doesn't sound too bad compared to what other presenters were doing and got away with. At least it was with consenting adults

It wasn't sex parties. He had a drink with some prostitutes, that's all.
Wa blown right out of proportion and wouldn't be mentioned now.
Such an awful announcement, they really shouldn't have bothered, his poor family to be remembered this way.

nosswith, I believe Desmond Lynam and Steve Ryder are still with us.

To be fair to FB, he had a quite colourful private life which many people in the entertainment industry had, or may still have. His two books, Cue Frank! and Frank Bough's Breakfast Book, are both worth a read.
