Potty training help needed

Hello my little girl is three in two weeks and I can’t crack potty training. I tried when she was 2 1/2 and after two days not a single wee or poo had gone in the potty. Nearly six months later I am trying again. I am on day 2 and still the potty has never received a poo or a wee. She is happy to sit on it. We have read books and watched cartoons, and I’m fairly sure she knows what should happen. We have been bare bottomed and clothed. I have been sitting her on the potty about once a day since she was two and a half and she has never ever done a wee on it! The only person to have done a wee on the potty is me! It was a very desperate demonstration. What else can I try to encourage her? Thank you.

At nearly three, I would try giving the potty a miss and go straight to using the toilet, with a step stool and a child sized seat. Let her choose some big girl knicks, encourage her to drink plenty and then just go for it.

Thank you @NannyR. I have tried that but she refuses to even entertain sitting on it and cries if I try to take her towards it. I am trying to encourage her by letting her watch me but she is really anxious.

Does she know when she wants to pee?

@jessstan1 I don’t think so. She bursts into tears after she has wet herself. It’s breaking my heart. She is sitting on the potty now waiting for me to make her dinner. She is such a good little girl. I wish I could do it for her.
