Work team building help needed

Afternoon all,

Looking for some help. I am organising a team building event in early November. It will include people all across Scotland.

I was wanting to organise cakes or brownies or something along these lines to be delivered to everyone the day before so that during the break - we could have a virtual tea break together.

Does anyone know of anywhere that would be able to help?
Budget is about £15/20 per person. And would obviously need to be posted.

My suggestion (seriously) would be to forget the team-building and just send them cakes.

These cakes are amazing and she will cater to your individual need

Lol @WitchesSpelleas. I seriously would love to, but it’s a group of union reps, and I really want to bring them together to give them some Health and safety training, and make sure that they feel comfortable about what they can challenge in workplaces and community settings.

I felt that the cake would help make it feel a little less formal!

Call it a training session if that’s what it is.

If you can't find a suitable delivery option, could they buy their own cakes and claim back as expenses? This would mean they could cater for their own dietary requirements too - bound to be someone who is low-carbing and would rather have cold chicken or clotted cream or something, not to mention gluten free people, those with nut allergies and so on.

HuckfromScandal · 25/10/2020 13:25

It’s not a training session. But thanks!

It’s an opportunity to bring people together -
To deliver some training
To make sure that they are getting the support they need.
To discuss and try and resolve any problems that they make be having.

We normally get together for a couple of days in November.

And I thought that sending some cakes - including gluten free and vegan, would be a nice way to make them feel appreciated.

I would seriously consider calling it a team training and support day or something, because "team building" has most people thinking "nope" before they even get there. Partly because of the bad rep of painful icebreakers etc, and partly because it implies the team isn't functioning well so needs remedial input. (That may be true, but you don't want to have in people's minds from the start that you don't think they can resolve their own issues...)

To return to your actual question, do Biscuiteers cover your area?

WitchesSpelleas · 25/10/2020 13:40

Maybe include fruit as an additional option for those trying to lose the lockdown lbs.

HuckfromScandal · 25/10/2020 13:46

I haven’t called it team building to the people invited.....
They know what they are coming to.
So thanks - let me just do my job please - I am pretty good at it.

Just looking for suggestions on where to get some cakes delivered from.

But the fruit is an excellent idea - thanks 🙏🏻.

I think it's a lovely idea OP and I might just use it for my team!

CMOTDibbler · 25/10/2020 13:55

I've use Sponge for both cakes and cake cards, and their cakes are delicious. They do GF and vegan. If you give drop them an email I'm sure they can help
