Help please! Single oven or double oven?!

Hi,
As the title suggests - I'm desperately in need of a new oven. I currently have a built in, under the counter Bosch double oven. It's been in my house as long as I've lived here, so at least 15 years.
The bottom oven keeps having issues with the thermostat going. My exh would always be able to sort it and fit a new one. But it seems that the oven really is on its last legs!
Had a look online and there are so many options that I'm a bit lost. Could anyone recommend an electric oven please? I can't afford to spend a fortune. Also - double or single? Pros and cons? I haven't a clue what to look for in a decent oven. There are 3 of us at home - me and 2 teens to cook for.

I’d go for a double oven over a single oven every time!! I’d never go back to a single oven and there’s only two of us! In fact I’ve just used both right now to cook dinner. Sorry I can’t recommend an electric oven though as we have gas.

Double! I had a single oven, utter pain in the aese when you want to make Christmas dinner or a roast and everything had different temps and times.

Thank you for your reply @MyCatTibby! I'll stick with a double then Smile

I assume the gap will be double oven sized

If it’s a built under oven I’d guess it’s a smaller than standard double oven rather than a full sized oven, slightly smaller top oven? If that was the case I’d go for one full sized oven but if it’s a proper double if replace with a double. In terms of brand, I’ve had a Neff in both houses we’ve lived in. Not cheap (sorry) but last forever and very reliable. Our current double oven is 20 years old and looks as good as new, and works perfectly. A basic model might not be too expensive.

Mine is built in under the hob and they are both smaller than one single oven (heat up faster) but I can stick a full Christmas dinner for 8 in it.

An under counter double oven will usually be bigger than an under counter single oven. When you have a single oven there is an extra panel to fit under the single oven to cover the gap you need if you have a double oven

Thank you for the replies. Stupidly in my head I thought a single oven would equate to the double oven size, as both of mine are small. If that makes sense?! Obviously I'll measure the gap and double check
