Spending Half term in isolation?

Anyone else?

What have you got planned?

Unfortunatley our isolation came about the day after our food shop so I am trying to arrange a mini food shop of treats for us to bring forward halloween, (hadn't planned for them until Saturday).
DH cannot get a test until Monday so even if he comes back negative, it is likely to be Thursday/Friday before we can leave the house, the earliest shop I can get is Wednesday night.

Before then we will decorate the house in halloween stuff, bake snacks, watch a couple of films and play with their toys. Thank fully they both just had birthdays.

What is everyone else doing?

Hi OP, we are not spending half term in isolation but are staying close to home. I didn't want to read and run though. Your plans sound lovely. I bet your DC will have a fab week and tbh kids like the simple things. Hope you enjoy your time together at home Thanks

Thank you. I hadn't planned to go out and do much anyway, just a local halloween trail and some pumpkin picking although that is apparently water logged anyway.
We may still get to do the trail if the test comes back negative.
My only gripe is that I organised a party for the kids this weekend which I would have liked to bring forward seems as we are stuck home but I can't get a delivery for under £40 in the next couple of days and we had a big shop delivered last night.

Could you ask a neighbour or friend to pick up a few bits for you? Or add them to their shop if it’s coming soon? We have a street what’s app group where we do thins and everyone is very helpful.

On week 2 of our isolation here, last week we carried on with ‘home school’ - We are lucky that our school has got some really good stuff online now.

Next week will be ‘Halloween’ lots of arts and crafts. I have been hoarding the recycling to save for junk modelling. Making play dough ( even my teenage nieces still like playing with it- apparently it’s better than slime!)

Making the Christmas cake and learning some proper cooking skills. DD is in cubs so we have been doing badges online- it gives a focus for activities and a lot of ideas.

I might get them to put on a play or something.

We have an indoor swing ( doorway!) and some table tennis stuff which they love ( it certainly interesting playing table tennis on our tiny kitchen table!)

One of the DCs has an medical issue that means we are getting to be pros at the self isolating thing... and I am currently a SAHM which helps too.

But when all of that is not enough then TV ( and gin for me!) - Good luck OP 2 weeks is a long time.

The neighbours probably would but the stuff I want for the party is sweets and donuts and as we aren't close it isn't the sort of stuff you pull in a favour for Grin.

I am sure the kids will wait. Luckily I went to homebargains last week for sum bits and they are in the boot of the car.
