Help!! Where do you keep your rattan sofa cushions??

I bought my first new lovely sofa set this year. It has a cover which has been on but horrific weather last night has ripped it off and off course the cushions are now sodden underneath. The cushions are ‘waterproof’ but this is not true as they are soaked through... I can’t bring them in the house. I have a garage but won’t they go mouldy on there over the winter??

We keep ours in a large plastic box in the garage over winter but keep it out over summer and it’s waterproof

We put ours in the loft for the winter, can you do that?

I have a loft but the hatch is tiny.... plus it’s damp up there... what sort of plastic?? Mine is an L shape so quite a lot of cushions... I would need a massive box??

We keep ours in the garden shed which is ventilated (window open). A lot of people use those big plastic garden storage boxes - we have a small one in which we keep footballs, cricket bats etc and I have another at the allotment, never had damp problems with either.

There’s about 14 cushions! Some are big ones you sit on. That’s going to be a lot of box! They are sodden, just went to bring them in to dry by the radiator and dehumidifier but they are creating puddles so are currently standing up in the garage on some cardboard until I work out what to do with them! It’s meant to be damp and wet for days here so no chance of them dryi nag outside in the sun Sad

The boxes are big, but you can get an awful lot of stuff in them and they do keep it dry.

I have just found some cushion storage bag things on eBay... would they be ok?

I’ll go and measure the biggest cushion.

I have a very similar issue - I don’t think keeping them under a cover all winter will do them any good anyway, ours were covered in condensation. They are now in the garage and I’m considering putting them into the attic

They'll be fine in the garage. Let them thoroughly dry on the cardboard before packing them in anything.

Does your garage have rafters? When they are dry and light, they could go up there.

Ooh that’s a good idea! I’ll see if they fit up there
