I need a new watch - smart watch or Garmin-type device?

Hi, my birthday is coming up and I'd like a watch as my old one just broke. I guess I might as well get a smart watch rather than a conventional one. Which one do you recommend?

I run a bit and would like it for that, but I also want it to work like a regular watch. I'm never going to use it to read the news on it or play games. What do you think I should get?

I have the Garmin Forerunner 35 and it’s great for running, easy to use and does everything I need. Can link phone and pick up messages etc.

If I was replacing it I’d probably get the forerunner 45 now as it looks a bit neater for every day.

Thanks. Can you listen to music through your Garmin?

Shamelessly following as I’m thinking of getting something like this Christmas for DH.

@WhenInDoubtSmileandPout you can’t through mine as it’s a bit more basic. But take a look at the Venu or the Vivoactive as I think you can through those and they are really nice looking watches.

Also look at the forerunner 635.

I think the forerunner would have more running features, but I know all three of these watches will have plenty - unless you are a super serious runner.

I think there might be a forerunner 645 now too!!

@icebearforpresident lucky husband! There are sometimes good deals on amazon when they do their Black Friday offers!

I want the new Fitbit sense but can't justify it as I only bought a Versa two last year. Not even a year ago.
