Sherry or brandy in Xmas puds?

That's it! Am about to shop for fruit and alcohol for soaking to ready to make xmas puddings. A cheery little project for half term. I have always used brandy but now wondering what if sherry is tastier?!?! Recipe suggests either. So come and tell me, what should it be...brandy or sherry? What do you prefer and why?

Rum - dark navy rum.

It gives a much deeper, more rounded flavour. It also smells amazing when you stir the fruit.

Thanks fairy. I do love rum and have some in...perhaps less sweet than sherry too.

Rum in the pud, Brandy for setting it alight and the Sherry is for drinking whilst you make it!

Brandy

I use Amaretto, not traditional but a lovely flavour
