Hot lunchtime meals ideas

notacooldad · 24/10/2020 11:04

My DH's job means he goes to quite remote areas and us usually busy round lunchtime so misses the butty and pie shops.
I want to make him interesting healthy hot lunches to eat on the hoof now we are going into winter.
He's driving around so there's no microwave, kettle etc.
I have some ideas but seeing if anyone has any suggestions.
I'll be making it the night before. Any veggie or vegan ones would be doubly appreciated!!
Thanks if you do share anything

Some of my meals will be hot especially on very cold days and some of the areas he visits will be bleak!!

I've just bought myself a new thermas flask and have been taken-
Sausage casserole
Chilli
Soup
Stew
For my lunch. It's great because it stays hot all day so doesn't matter when I have lunch.
I was going to buy one from Amazon, but they were half price in Sainsbury's last weekend.

We are going to need new flasks. I'll take a look at Sainsbury 's when I'm in later. Thanks.
I did say I would lend him my Jet Boil but he told me not to be so bloody stupid! ( that was our bantery joke btw before anyone says ltb!🤣🤣)

DP used to work as a driver's mate and the man he was 'mate' to brought a plug in lunchbox that he could heat up things like casserole, soup etc by plugging into the 12v socket.

I've just looked on Amazon.
I never even knew there was a heated lunch box. Winter will be a bit less bleak at work for him.

The Thermos pots are great. The secret is to pour boiling water in to heat them before putting the main meal in.
