Yes but then I love Halloween 🎃

MedusasBadHairDay · 23/10/2020 22:39

Yes, I'd wear it without my kids. Tbf I'm a goth at heart, so halloween clothes are my every day clothes

amusedtodeath1 · 23/10/2020 22:46

Yes, only she's too old for all that now so I've no excuse anymore Sad

TheFallenMadonna · 23/10/2020 22:47

My 16yo is insisting on it this year.

FallonCarringtonWannabe · 23/10/2020 22:52

Yes, of course. I wear it for the halloween parties, and for trick or treating.

Queenfreak · 23/10/2020 22:55

no, not usually, but will be making an effort (homemade, so will be pretty poor!) This year as no parties or truck or treating. Will decorate the house this week and we will have a family 'party'

eddiemairswife · 23/10/2020 22:58

Thank goodness Hallowe'en doesn't seem to be a 'thing' round here.

indemMUND · 23/10/2020 23:18

Halloween or not I dress/do my make up the same every day. DD and I are like Wednesday and Morticia one day a year at least and I love it. She had a dress up day for last day of term today and she asked me to paint her face like mine. We got a lot of smiles on the school run and a lady actually stopped to let us pass and gave us a thumbs up. It's goth Christmas for me Grin

GuyFawkesHadTheRightIdea · 23/10/2020 23:21

@indemMUND I'm pretty much Morticia all year round anyway 😂

Cheerybigbottom · 23/10/2020 23:22

Yes, I've got a lovely new posh felt witch hat this year. Mustn't let standards slip.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 23/10/2020 23:25

My 7yo noticed there was an adult version of her chosen costume.
On her insistence, we now have matching costumes.

I'm not the 'twinning' sort of mother, but it's made her very happy.

AvoidingRealHumans · 23/10/2020 23:29

Yes, love dressing up with the kids.

BillywigSting · 23/10/2020 23:32

Absolutely. The goth in me loves Halloween much more than Christmas

NeonGenesis · 23/10/2020 23:35

Yep, always. But I like dressing up for Halloween, and always did it pre DC. I don't think parents should feel like they have to if they don't like it, if that's what you're getting at.

TildaTurnip · 23/10/2020 23:37

No but also my children don’t dress up or celebrate it either.

FatGirlShrinking · 23/10/2020 23:40

Yes, this is my favourite time of year to buy casual clothes I'll wear all year. Got a ghostbuster sweatshirt from Asda earlier today and a long sleeved black T-shirt with spiderweb designs from Sainsbury's the other week. Got my eye on a few things at H&M I Hope will go inthe sale.

This year has been a bit disappointing as ranges are very limited 8n shops that usually have a better selection.

Viv0321 · 24/10/2020 00:13

Ok so what’s your costumes? Grin

OP posts:
FatGirlShrinking · 24/10/2020 00:25

I'm a skeleton this year, DD is batgirl.

No trick or treating but we're doing a Halloween fun day at home just me, DH and DD:

  • pumpkin carving competition
  • disco with things like monster mash, ghostbusters and so on on
  • spooky films (as spooky as they can be for a 6yo)
  • buffet of horror foods, grape eyeballs, devilled eggs, bat shaped sandwiches, slime cupcakes
Stompythedinosaur · 24/10/2020 00:30

I wear a black dress and a witches hat - I can't see the harm.

MedusasBadHairDay · 24/10/2020 08:08

No costume this year, as I'm not going out anywhere and we're trying to save money I've (reluctantly) decided not to bother.

I'll probably just wear one of my many black dresses, add orange tights and find the mini witch hat/fascinator I wore last year.

Viv0321 · 26/10/2020 12:00

Anyone got any ideas for costumes? Do you dress as a fmaily?

OP posts:
rednsparkley · 26/10/2020 12:22

I do but my wardrobe is pretty witchy all year round 😁 I also dress up at work as I work in a school so when the kids dress up, we all dress up 🧙🧟
