Mine won’t be to everyone’s taste at all, but we bought a wall mounted electric fire.

I absolute adore it - it’s thin enough to be unobtrusive, works in our modern home without fireplaces etc, and makes my room feel oh so perfect for autumn and winter.

I’ve had it two weeks and still love it!

Lakeland mini rice cooker
An aeropress- I haven't hardly had a cup of instant coffee since.
Lovely janome sewing machine- who knew how many faffy face masks I would need to make.
Sip and swell bottle I always have a hot or a cold drink with me, that's worth a lot to me.

New furniture for our garden - fabulous sectional we can divide and put 6ft apart with a fire table in between. It allows us to socialise with other people outside.

Treadmill - have long wanted on. Finally got one because not going to the gym anymore. It took blood sweat and tears to get it into our basement but I have used it every day since it arrived.

Lovely colourful shallow pasta bowls I bought online.

An Ooni pizza oven. Strictly speaking bought in 2019 for DH,'s Xmas but used extensively during lockdown.

Also, a Sonos Move. Awesome portable speaker attached to the rest of our Sonos set up and another part of our sanity-saving lockdown garden time.

Both quite big ticket items but massively offset by all the money we haven't spend on eating out, socialising and holidays.

Instant pot, use it almost every day
Gorgeous second hand bowls, beautiful and used very often
A pure cotton Japanese mattress made in UK

New running shoes- helped me complete couch 25k!

Orangesox · 23/10/2020 22:15

A shiny new (to me) car. I had spinal surgery in July and came out of it unable to drive a manual due to nerve damage, umm’d and ahh’d about getting something cheap to put me on, DH convinced me to get the car that he knew I wanted that was perfect for me needs. I can’t stop hobbling outside to sit in it; having my independence back after a really shit year has been amazing for my mental health.

My new living flame gas fire. So warm and I no longer need the central heating that dries out my sinuses. Looking forward to draping lovely green things on it at Christmas.

Such a 2020 cliché but we did in fact buy a hot tub and we have absolutely loved it!

PurplePansy05 · 23/10/2020 22:29

My own car 😊 and our first ever greenhouse!

MJMG2015 · 23/10/2020 22:38

Fridge/Freezer. Love it.

'Made do' with an undercounter fridge for years because the kitchen is getting a complete refit & other things need to move before a FF can fit where it needs to go. But I decided I needed more & better fridge space in a fridge that didn't freeze everything 🤣

It's been a complete god send during lockdown, even if it is in a bloody awkward place for now!

BlueJava · 23/10/2020 22:39

A proper adjustable chair for wfh - amazing!

MrDarcysMa · 23/10/2020 22:43

TwoZeroTwoZero · 23/10/2020 22:46

A "nifty fifty" (ish; it's actually 35mm but is roughly 50mm on my cropped sensor camera) prime lens. I love it and it's almost the only lens I use now.

shesgonebatshitagain · 23/10/2020 22:47

New carpet in the playroom
AstroTurf instead of decking

HeyMicky · 23/10/2020 22:57

Bertie the Eufy. I love him so much I referred to him as my second child.

I have two children Blush

WotNoLoobrush · 23/10/2020 22:57

Ear pods. No more dodgy, loose connecting cables👍🏻

im5050 · 23/10/2020 23:13

My dog a french bulldog
He’s a complete idiot but makes me laugh every day

Clevs · 23/10/2020 23:20

An American fridge freezer with a water dispenser on the door and an ice maker in the freezer. It replaced a 15 year old fridge freezer.

KoalaRabbit · 24/10/2020 04:20

Three silkie chickens and a lovely new house for them. DS is totally besotted with them - he's always wanted chickens though we had to move to countryside first.

Robot vacuum that also mops the floor. It goes on every day, so nice to turn it on and walk away.

Swiss Army knives when I was in Zurich. A fabulous dress from John Lewis.
