At Risk of Redundancy - no policy

I was told yesterday I was being made redundant. Today I was told the role was at risk of redundancy. I've asked repeatedly to see the Redundancy Policy (referred to in our handbook/guide) over the last 30 hours - turns out we don't yet have one and they will upload something for us tonight.

Surely if you are going to make redundancies the policy should have been written, agreed, and, shared prior to staff being told they are at risk or being made redundant.

Ideally, yes, but as long as they follow statutory guidelines then they're not obliged to.

How long have you worked there?

I imagine they'll just follow the law with redundancy legislation. I don't believe our company has a specific policy either.

Under two years.

Thanks for clarifying.

If its under two years you're entitled to your contractual notice period and that's it, unless they want to offer you more. Wait and see what this policy says I guess.
