If your dc are going to pre-school/nursery, do you take them to other groups/activities as well?

DD (now nearly 3) was attending groups about 3-4 times a week pre-covid. One of these was a toddler dance class and she loved it there. She wasn't going to preschool then. She started preschool in september two half days a week. We have tried to increase it to 3 half days but there is no availability at present. If it's relevant, DD is an only child (and likely to remain so) and loves interacting and playing with other children. This toddler dance class has only just managed to find a suitable location locally and are restarting classes after half term. I would love to take my DD to this but I am worried if we are uneccesarily increasing the risk of us getting covid. We will also lose our place if we don't go. Ahh, it's such a difficult decision for me to make . DH says we should go for it. So tell me lovely mnetters , do you take your preschooler's to other activities and groups in addition to preschool/nursery?

Hello! Yes. I have an 'only' too, and he goes to nursery 2.5 days a week. I also take him to a baby music group one morning a week and swimming one afternoon. For me, the risk of covid is a concern but the enjoyment he gets and the stimulation from the activities is such a positive. He's had 6 months of being shut in effectively and the activities he does seem to be run very safely so at the moment I'm happy for him to continue.

@PintOfBovril Thanks for replying Smile. Ahh, good point! I had actually forgotten about being locked in for six months Blush. I think maybe I should take her in while I can - who knows what will happen in the next few weeks/months.

DS does a class on one of his ‘days off’ he loves it. DD is in full time school and still loves her dance class.
