Yahoo Mail - email's going into spam/junk. Help please?

I email my dad a lot and suddenly all my emails are going into his junk file. Googling just told me that he should add me to his contacts, which he has, but it's still happening.

Any ideas please?

We both have Yahoo addresses and he's using an iPad.

Get him to log on to yahoo web based mail (ie do it in a browser not the app) and ad you as a contact/mark you not spam on there. The Apple app is the Apple based spam filter and you might still be falling foul of the actual Yahoo spam filter.

Thanks @FromTheAllotment, I'll see if I can get him to do that - he's 83 and it's really hard to do on the telephone - Hence the hundreds of emails

Does Yahoo not have an equivalent to Gmail’s ‘Move to inbox and do not treat as spam’? In Gmail you can tell it you like that person’s address and so you’re adding your Dad to your ‘safe’ list.

Ignore me! Got it the wrong way I thought his were going into your spam folder.

Yeah I feel your pain - the other option is you get his password and do it for him!! 😆

Am I right in thinking if I change myself in his account on a laptop, that will make it ok on his iPad? - I'm not too far down the ignorant path myself!

Yep. Assuming that I’m right about what’s causing the problem- I had the exact same issue with my son’s school emails all being spam filtered by yahoo, and this solved it. He wouldn’t need to do anything on his iPad. You can even move emails that are in his junk folder into his inbox, and this will carry through to his iPad app.

Mine’s doing the same. If he goes into spam and marks your emails with ‘safe sender’ if will stop happening.
You could always log on as him and do it guy him.

Yahoo used to have a glitch that means certain emails go into Spam, despite having the sender in your Contacts and marking every email as not Spam. This happened to just one of my Contacts about 90% of the time for several months, but now has stopped - who knows why, as I didn't change anything. Fingers crossed that's not what's happening for your dad.

Sorry, meant to post ages ago - it worked! Went into Dad's Spam and marked myself as not spam and all emails are now going into his inbox.
