Universal credit/redundancy - help please?

Hi!

Hoping there’s some knowledgable people on here as there’s nothing online.

Does anyone know if my redundancy pay is classed as income for universal credit?

Due to get a redundancy payout end of the month of £500, currently on UC so will they deduct the £500 in the same way they do on my monthly wage?

If they do, would mean my redundancy extra pay would work out at around £280 once deducted so just trying to budget how far it’ll stretch.

Thanks sooo much! Flowers

Redundancy pay will be treated as capital. But payment in lieu of notice/back pay/holiday pay will be classed as income

Thank you! So redundancy pay is basically disregarded from the monthly award unless it takes you over some savings limit? (not something I’d have to worry about!)
