Lenovo Tablet or Amazon Fire

I'm looking to buy a tablet but can't justify the hefty price tag of an Ipad or Samsung. I just want it to download e-books/audio books and generally surf the internet. Has anyone got any views on either a Lenovo or Amazon Fire? Would you recommend? Thanks!

Had both for DS. Lenovo wins hands down. Found the Fire slow and couldn't get googleplay on it which meant no access to a lot of apps.

Amazon Fire really isn't great. We had to have ours replaced during warranty (and we're not the only ones), its slow, clunky, poor battery life, and just not user friendly in the way other tablets are.

Not the fire. It's so unintuitive. Anything else would be better.

I'm using a Lenovo tablet right now, I bought it as a cheap stop gap with a view to replace in a few months as our old Samsung one stopped working. Six months on and I have no intention of replacing it. It's too slow for Roblox for dd but Candy crush works perfectly for me. It cost around £35.
