Finally figured out how to do autumn/winter - two large helpings of creamy pasta (mushroom, truffles rigatoni) >>> in a coma by 8pm >>> feel fucking awesome today.

Please share your carbiest recipes!

Chip butties on soft white bread with real butter. A very occasional treat but absolute food of the gods.

I never met a carb I didn't like, which is why I'm fat (though less fat than I was before leisure centres reopened).

Creamy chicken pie with puff pastry top, served with whole grain mustard mash, peas and gravy.

Followed by apple crumble with crunch oat top and vanilla custard.

This is such a drool fest 😋

(Carbs don’t actually make people fat though 🤨 that’s just a surplus calorie thing!)

Carbs make me fat, but that because of my lack of self control!!

Mac and cheese, chips and garlic bread.

Rqiuta · 22/10/2020 11:07

Another one, I love a double or triple carbs fest Grin
From my uni days, a local kebab place used to do chips in a rolled up naan 🤤 and a leaf or two of lettuce, so practically a health food

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 22/10/2020 11:12

Cheesy mash
Pasta with pesto
Lasagne - the classic recipe and DH makes an amazing sun-dried tomato and lamb lasagne.
Jam doughnuts
M&S cheese scones
Soda bread

I’m 16 weeks pregnant and carbs have kept me going through my first trimester.

OHappyDay · 22/10/2020 11:14

Mac and cheese or mushroom risotto for me! I bloody love carbs

Ylfa · 22/10/2020 11:16

I feel like a wannabe or an imposter because I haven’t really explored the world of snarfing multiple carbs all at once - yet 🤔

Start now 😂 I recommend potato topped pizza. I am just a carb monster Grin

ShowOfHands · 22/10/2020 11:21

I love digestives. Did you remember to stick a wodge of cheese on it before consuming? This might be the step you missed. Repeat the experiment immediately.

Ylfa · 22/10/2020 11:22

MMMMM that’s a very Roman pizza, I’ve enjoyed them before. Also pizza with briciole (breadcrumbs) on top 😋

I’m obviously NOT a one carb at a time woman, only a forgetful one!

Ooohhhhhh you’re so right - carbs need CHEESE (or similar animal fats) to bring out the best in them!

Pasta and rice. I do like potatoes, but if I had to give up a carb, the spuds would be out.

I'm doing 16:8 and losing weight steadily - and still eating carbs.

Ylfa · 22/10/2020 12:31

Potatoes are EFFORT

@PurpleDaisies

It’s got to be veggie lasagne with chips and garlic bread for me.
I’m make vegetarian lasagna with salad and garlic bread for dinner tonight. I’m excited already 😂
TwilightSkies · 22/10/2020 12:35

Potatoes are my carb of choice. Chips, mash, roasties, garlic cubes, croquettes, waffles, fries etc etc.

Bread is also good Smile

Sexnotgender · 22/10/2020 12:36

Digestives are ok, they are currently helping my morning sickness. To be properly enjoyed they need spread with delicious salted butter.

Hoctober · 22/10/2020 12:38

You can keep your pasta and rice, I'll live on tatties and bread.

And some pastry.

BunTooti · 22/10/2020 12:40

Carbs are amazing. I'm low carbing Sad .

Ylfa · 22/10/2020 12:41

My hierarchy of carbs is:

Pasta
Rice (but must be sticky, as in risotto, none of your unsociable long grains who don’t even talk to each other)
Pulses - quite carby?
Breads with oil and salt 😋
Maybe a cheese pastry 🤔

Just got into making homemade pasta and gnocchi. Fun to make, even better to eat!

JemimaTiggywinkle · 22/10/2020 12:45

I was completely on board with you, until I read pulses???? How can you possibly put them in the same category as lovely pasta, risotto and bread?

MysweetAudrina · 22/10/2020 12:46

Certainly made me fat. Have cut right back to about 50g a day and have lost nearly 20lbs in 5 weeks. It's so easy to say no when the crazy carbs cravings diminish. I want to emerge from this pandemic, stronger and fitter and carbs were making me sluggish and fatter. I'll treat myself to some over Christmas when I have the space to be sluggish and bloated.

I love “hierarchy of carbs” and anti-social rice. 😂

I'm a fan. Hummus, falafels, dhal. Yum.
