Gosh is this a thing now? I’ve heard of virtual wine tasting/cocktail making where all participants get sent a box. That might be fun?

Murder Mystery if there was the right number of people.

Chocolatehobnob9 · 21/10/2020 15:51

We did murder mystery for our christmas do last year!
I literally have no ideas at all!

What would you normally do if someone was leaving? Most offices would just have some drinks and possibly a speech and presentation. If your usual leaving do would usually follow that format, who has suggested that a virtual one needs to be anything more than that? The idea of any kind of "fun" group activity for a leaving do sounds like hell to me personally!

You could get drinks and snacks delivered to everyone, that usually loosens everyone up! You could order from a supermarket or a company like the Bottled Bartender or Taste Club. I like the idea of cocktail making too. Is everyone chipping in or is the company paying?

@unfortunateevents I know me too - it's a bit contrived. And I agree, if we were doing this in person it would just be a restaurant or a bar with drinks and a presentation and gift.
I think we should steer away from a contrived event but it looks like I have been outvoted and they want me to organize an event :(
Why they asked me I don't know! I am about as creative a stick man drawing.

I would run for the hills OP.

Just ask the leaving person what they want to do. They may not want anything else but a chat. If the team is big then any activity may turn out to be too awkward.

We are also doing a Zoom leaving do soon, it will just be a chat over Zoom, with everyone bringing a bit of cake or something to eat together.
