Random things you are grateful for

Life is shite for a lot of people at the moment and I'm struggling - as usual at around the time the clocks go back but more so this year for obvious reasons.

To counteract my usual negativity I'm focusing on the positive.

Today I am grateful for the the fact that we changed our broadband provider and it hasn't let us down during myriad work calls (me), online lessons (DS isolating) and other online lessons (DH teaching). Doubly chuffed because it's cheaper than our last provider and they told us when we left them "you'll be back within two months, everyone always is" (which made me determined never to go back even if we had to resort to carrier pigeon).

Anyone care to join me?

Great idea for a thread! I'm grateful for:

  • finding 200 logs in the boiler room the other day that we didn't know were there, so we have been having a crackling wood fire of an evening
  • a lovely team at work who are super supportive and well-managed
  • DS2 making such fast progress on the violin that we are rapidly leaving behind the "screeching cat/nails on a chalkboard" phase
  • DH being super lovely in general
  • the waiter at our local curry house doing absolutely mindlblowing magic tricks for the DCs last night (we were the only ones in there, he said he usually makes his living as a wedding entertainer, we left him a massive tip!)

I’m grateful to be employed in a job, that while it isn’t ideal is well paying and not awful.
I’m grateful that my dog doesn’t care cancer again.
I’m grateful I Can still drive to see my DD at university tomorrow, although less grateful with the list of stuff I’ve got to take with me!

No way to edit this, dog doesn’t have cancer again

Hurrah for the dog not having cancer again - that is a major thing to be grateful for!

I am also very grateful for being in a job (albeit reduced hours) and also eternally grateful that whilst DS has had to isolate, school have been phenomenal in their online provision which has kept us all from going mad.

Curry house sounds fab @Xiaoxiong

I'm also grateful on a log-related note, DH has been hankering after a chainsaw and my dear old Dad has got him one out of the local papers (didn't even know they still existed) for a tenner.

I'm grateful that my Dad is recovering after pneumonia and Covid-19, he's over 80 and I love him so much.

For my husband, who is just generally lovely.

I'm grateful for many things, but right now I'm grateful for the layout of the hockey club car park, so I can sit in the car to watch DS' practice and not stand in the rain like I do at DD's football sessions.
