Before anyone says anything about getting health advice on a forum i have already spoke to a doctor who gave me a good bollocking.
Basically 3 weeks ago my DS(4) and DS (10 months ) got colds. No cough/high temp etc just snotty noses. After about a week DS (4) was completely fine. Baby DS though developed a mucus cough at night. it was not a dry cough at all he was literally coughing up mucus. I did think of getting him tested but technically he didnt have any symptoms and it was over 5 days from when it started. He also seemed fine more or less during the day it was just at night. However, last week i felt his cough was going on for too long and managed to get a telephone appointment with the doctor. She basically bollocked me for not getting him tested. I don't think i explained myself well enough i said i didn't know how i could test a baby to which she said I should have just shoved it up his nose. Anyway she said she couldn't see him in case it was covid.
Here is my issue older DS who only went back to nursery last week as we isolated just in case has picked up another cold and seems to have passed it onto his brother again. So baby DS is snotty again and coughing now.
My issue is whether to get him tested. Again older DS has symptoms of a cold no cough. I feel like we are being told not to waste tests but now i feel i will get another bollocking if i ring my doctor.
Any health professionals on here who could advise? I am going to try and get another appointment this week. Just hoping to speak to someone who wont have a go at me.
