Plastic bin bag melted on to coat... how to get rid?!

So I've had a winter coat (amongst other things) in storage for about a year as I haven't needed it. The coat has been wrapped in a black bin bag. I went and got it yesterday, and somehow the bag has melted on to the coat leaving an awful sticky residue, it's almost like gum Confused

I've tried scraping it off but it's just so sticky, and any bits that do come off are still sticky underneath. Is there any chance I'm going to be able to get rid of this or is the coat a goner? Sad

The coat itself is like a cargo style material, the worst of the melted plastic is on the sleeves. I wasn't sure if making the plastic cold would work and make pulling it off easier?

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Try freezing it and see if the plastic becomes hard and brittle and breaks off. This sometimes works with chewing gum!

Try spraying with hairspray then picking.
