If you have the flu vaccine, do you feel rough a few days later?

I had mine 4 days ago and now I feel crap.
I was wondering whether it was coincidence or not.
The nurses I work with often say they feel rubbish afterwards, headache, run down, tired.
But I've just looked into the vaccine and it isn't a live vaccination and the side effects stated on the NHS website are just localised pain and swelling.

I wonder how others felt after?

I never want the flu jab again.

Are you advised to have it by your GP, OP?

CleverCatty · 23/10/2020 10:26

Probably a slight coincidence but got nasty cold with sore throat and had flu jab a few weeks ago.

Was fit as a butcher's dog beforehand and can't help thinking some connection between flu jab and current nasty cold.

This year and last year only some localised redness but nothing more. The couple of years before that I did feel a bit shit for a couple of days.

No never.

@Bluesheep8

A lot of people think they have reacted when they have probably just caught a cold. It is cold season after all.

I posted pretty much this upthread. I also think people expect to feel ill.

I didn't expect to feel ill. I actually completely forgot that I'd had the flu vaccination until I had a light bulb moment on day two of feeling rough.

No, I'm a nurse. So I will get it done again. I just really don't want to.

Try having it really early, I had mine October 2nd.

Never felt ill ever after it. Worst was a sore arm. Best I never even felt the needle.
