Do you share bath water? (Not together)

I shower every morning and bath every evening so my bath would never be very dirty, and my husband often jumps in after me

However I would not DREAM of getting in his, despite his morning shower too.

Do you share?

Maybe this should be on AIBU but thought would keep it more light hearted

No. I very seldom have a bath. I prefer the quickness of a shower.

gretagreengrapes · 19/10/2020 17:55

My grandparents did this. Like you, I would NEVER personally!

PotteringAlong · 19/10/2020 17:56

Yes! Otherwise it’s a waste of water and the gas to heat it up!

Branleuse · 19/10/2020 17:56

Yes if it doesnt look dirty and noones peed in it

HotToCold · 19/10/2020 17:57

Nope! Yuk

HotToCold · 19/10/2020 17:57

We have separate flannels .... Wouldnt dream of sharing the same water 😂

Ducksurprise · 19/10/2020 17:57

I wouldn't admit this in rl but yes we all are happy to share, kids and adults.

LST · 19/10/2020 17:58

He gets in mine and the kids get in mine but I'd never get in after either of them haha 😄

RiseUpWiseUpEyesUp · 19/10/2020 18:00

Absolutely not, the idea is grim to me tho I can’t exactly say why if the water is cleanish.

My husband said he would use my toothbrush the other day, just no.

gretagreengrapes · 19/10/2020 18:00

@branleuse but surely its still got their hair/sweat/dead skin/ traces of poo and wee/discharge/dandruff / moisteriser / deodorant/ anything off their body floating in it!

ImFree2doasiwant · 19/10/2020 18:01

My ExH used to get in after me.

When I was a child, my mum would get in, then me, then my dad. Poor dad. We did have an immersion heater though, so had to make the most of the hot water.

Raera · 19/10/2020 18:02

Children yes, adults, no just no!

BittersweetMemories · 19/10/2020 18:03

DP always gets in after me but I would never get in after him.

formerbabe · 19/10/2020 18:04

My dc are too old to share a bath, but the youngest has the first bath and the eldest gets in after.

AgnesNaismith · 19/10/2020 18:05

Fuck no. And I broke up with a boyfriend years ago because he asked if I wanted a bath, then proceeded to tell me his flat mate had just finished so I could get in.

LST · 19/10/2020 18:06

In fact.. sometimes dp gets it 3rd hand. I have one, then the kids jump in and he gets in after them.

FelicityBeedle · 19/10/2020 18:06

Yep, we both love baths but are aware of the cost so habe bath nights where we use each other’s water

movingonup20 · 19/10/2020 18:09

No but I'm not keen on baths really. Have been known to bath together in a previous life but always his instigating because as aforementioned I'm not keen on the whole sitting in your dirty water thing when there's a shower (I accept I miss the point)

JPduck · 19/10/2020 18:09

Yes with my 8yo or mum when she visits, she jumps in after me

lots33 · 19/10/2020 18:10

We share. However, we are both women, we both shower etc first and bath is just for laying in a bath and reading kindle, and taking it in turns to hide from the children!

MJMG2015 · 19/10/2020 18:15

Yes, we do far more intimate things than share water.

...but not after children!

Wouldn't put the kids in after adults either.

SlopesOff · 19/10/2020 18:15

Yes, but only if I can get in first.

Tinghtwek · 19/10/2020 18:20

I rarely bath but when I do I can't imagine it would be as pleasant an experience if the bathwater is dirty.

So no, I wouldn't do that.

Pollynextdoor · 19/10/2020 18:24

Eugh noooo. I love a hot bath so keep topping up all the time to keep warm anyway.

BinkyBoinky · 19/10/2020 18:25

Ewww this is disgusting! Are you all living in the 1930s or something!?
