Do you have to provide bank statements to rent a room

Even if short term? I know I personally have done when renting a house. My friend wants to rent a room but she wants to pay the rent with her savings. Will this be allowed. She’s only planning on being there a couple of months.

Why doesn't your friend just ask the person she's renting from if they'll take savings? Why are you posting about it on MN?

If she can pay the rent and prove she can pay the rent what's the issue? Her bank statements would show she has savings, right?

Ask the landlord. They may be ok with her paying upfront for the few weeks she’ll be there.

Agree with pp you may be able to pay for he full stay upfront

She’s new to renting so is worried about upsetting the landlord.will she get a tenancy agreement for a short term stay?

How would she 'upset' the landlord? With what? Either he's happy with her financial situation or he isn't. If he isn't happy with her finances he doesn't have to rent to her.

These not many rooms available short term so she doesn’t want to annoy him.
